About Imagination Emissary

mission statement

The imagination is one of the greatest tools of the human race. Throughout our history ideas have helped us solve the problems we encounter, and vastly improve our quality of life.

The imagination has allowed us to develop agriculture, architecture, machines, and even computers that made space travel possible. Stories exist in our imagination, and storytellers act as ambassadors to that vast universe of ideas.

The goal of Imagination Emissary is to allow artists and storytellers a space to develop their creativity, and share it with the world. Now more than ever, we need ideas and imagination to help make the world a better place for generations to come.

Bonita Elery

Bonita Elery is one actress, improviser and sketch writer to keep on your radar. Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, she knew at an early age that she was destined for stardom. Her fun loving, comedic personality was discovered at a young age. She knew that the countless hours spent in front of a mirror, welding a hairbrush as a microphone and a donning towel as a wig, would definitely pay off. She knew her place was to be around a camera, shining in the spotlight and brainstorming ideas behind the scenes.

After graduating from the Art Institute of Atlanta, She worked as a graphic designer for Fox News in Atlanta, Georgia. After a successful experience in the corporate world, her dreaming expanded to new heights, and she wanted to pursue something bigger. It was time to move and pursue personal endeavors. She sold her house, stepped out on faith, and she moved to New York City to fulfill her dreams. After wringing everything she could out of an acting class, she caught the acting bug. From that point, she knew that entertaining others was exactly her dream, and that she could do this for the rest of her life.

When she’s not up late at night playing video games, crying over Downton Abby reruns, you can catch her performing improvisation and sketch in different venues throughout the city. Seen on OWN Network’s Queen Sugar, CW’s Stargirl, Sundance Channel’s Rectify, FX’s Louie, and numerous more.

What people say?

Since working with Julia for under one year, my daughter has shown exponential growth and makes bolder choices in her craft. Priah has always performed with passion, but paired with Julia’s coaching, her work is consistent and undeniable. Julia also shows compassion and sincere interest with every child and encourages them to be the best version of themselves. We are truly appreciative of her wisdom and all she has poured into our child, personally and professionally.

It’s no secret that Julia Jones has been my absolute favorite coach that I have ever had the opportunity to work alongside. She’s been my go to for all of my tapings! Not only is she incredible at acting and coaching and even improv, but the notes that she gives are always straight to the point, easy to understand, and fun to do! Taping with Julia is always the highlight of my day because she is incredible at what she does and you can easily see that through her magnificent work. Everyone that I know who has worked with her loves her the most! She even helped me get the role in The House With A Clock In Its Walls and plenty of others

I always look forward to working with Julia. It’s not like work with her…we have fun. Don’t get me wrong. We work hard, but it’s always a great time. She has coached me through the most important roles I have been up for…and I landed some. She can help with the entire process, with character development or just refining one tiny physical detail.  She treats everything with great importance and knows how to push me to be my best. She also has range.  I have booked both serious dramatic film roles and insane, wacky comedy with her direction. I owe her so much. She is my secret weapon.  To top it all off, she is all-around one of the best people you will ever meet.
